As of today, 15 May 2014, 1096 MEP candidates have signed the Politics for People pledge to "stand-up for citizens and democracy against the excessive lobbying influence of banks and big business" if elected in the elections. Candidates have signed from all countries with candidates from Germany, Austria, Finland, Sweden, Spain and the UK featuring prominently. Politics for People has partners in 19 EU member states and over 50 organisations involved in total.
