- Represented the concerns and demands of its broad membership at key stages of the ETI consultation process;
- Built a confident working relationship with key EU officials, including Commissioner Kallas, as part of its involvement in the ETI debate;
- Become a reliable point of reference for journalists covering the issue of lobby disclosure, including the Financial Times and the European Voice;
- Disclosed the financial information of its Steering Committee member groups – aiming to disclose that of all of its 140+ members – because ALTER-EU considers it a matter of course to be transparent about groups’ financing sources (links to the individual members’ financial pages can be accessed via the ALTER-EU website: www.alter-eu.org);
- Organised a number of conferences and workshops in Brussels and across Europe to inform directly its membership and interested parties about the debate and consolidate a cohesive pan-European strategy;
- Facilitated information flow among members through a specialised listserver.
Individual member organizations have also begun organizing the “Worst EU Lobby Awards” as a way of exposing, to the media and the public, the most dubious and un-democratic lobbying cases in Brussels.
