Der Fall Ernst Strasser hat auch in der EU die Bestrebungen für eine bessere Kontrolle von Lobbyisten vorangebracht. Seit Mitte des Vorjahres gibt es ein gemeinsames Register, in dem sich Lobbyisten eintragen, wenn sie im EU-Parlament oder in der Komission tätig sind. Verpflichtend ist das aber nicht.

The joint transparency register launched by the European Commission and the European Parliament precisely 1 year ago is riddled with inaccuracies and gaps. A report released today by the pro-transparency group ALTER-EU says the voluntary register is failing to give a complete picture of lobbying in Brussels.

European Parliament's briefing cites CSCG and ALTER-EU's critique of Transparency Register
