Focus on Europarliament for the wrong reasons

When the Lisbon treaty came into force [...] many hoped this would help elevate the institution's work in the eyes of the public to a different level. But, in many ways, the story has remained much the same and possibly gone backwards with the media instead targeting the wrongdoings of MEPs rather than the fruits of their increased legislative powers.
