ALTER-EU reacts to President Juncker's proposals to reform revolving doors rules.

Despite some success, there is a long way to go for the European Parliament to truly stand-up for citizens and democracy against the excessive lobbying influence of banks and big business.
The European Commission proposed to reform the EU Lobbying Transparency Register in September 2016, promising to make it mandatory across EU institutions. But, when it comes to lobbying transparency, the ball is now in the European Parliament's court.
Following our launch of the ALTER-EU football cards revealing the Juncker Commissioners with the worst levels of corporate bias in terms of their lobby meetings, we have presented the week's social media activity in this Storify story.  
Since we started building our network in 2005, ALTER-EU has been criticising the privileged access that big business interests enjoy to the Commission – and its resulting impact on decision-making.
It's half-time for Juncker's Team and after taking a closer look at how it has implemented the instruction to “ensure an appropriate balance and representativeness" in their lobby meetings, ALTER-EU has awarded the Commission a yellow card.
